The Data Centre for the Humanities (DCH) offers researchers at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and beyond advice and support on issues relating to the management of research data in all phases of the research data life cycle. Ideally, research data management (RDM) is already a central component in the application phase of research projects. However, measures, strategies and workflows for the sustainable handling of research data cannot always be planned and prepared in advance of a project.
In order to nevertheless implement and realise adequate and comprehensive research data management in research projects, the DCH offers specific support at the beginning and end of a project with its RDM onboarding and offboarding services. The two DCH services are subdivided into different levels of need and include support in the development, planning and practical implementation of RDM (partial) workflows and RDM training in the RDM onboarding area and support in the development of publication and archiving strategies in the RDM offboarding area.
RDM Onboarding
The RDM-Onboarding Service is designed to support researchers in planning and implementing RDM strategies at the start of a research project. Based on different service levels (depending on support requirements), they can decide for themselves what kind of advice and support they need for their research project.
The RDM-Onboarding Service Level 1 is aimed at researchers who already have an RDM concept for their research project and still need support with some parts of their RDM strategy.
The RDM-Onboarding Service Level 2 addresses researchers who do not yet have a concrete concept for the management of research data for their research project and therefore need to develop such a customised concept for their own research project.
The RDM-Onboarding Service Level 3 is aimed at researchers who would like to train their staff in research data management as part of a new research project in order to develop and implement their own RDM strategy.
RDM Offboarding
The RDM Offboarding Service is intended to support researchers in planning and implementing archiving and publication strategies towards the end of a research project. Based on different service levels (depending on support requirements), they can decide for themselves what kind of advice and support they need for their research project.
The RDM-Offboarding Service Level 1 is aimed at researchers who already have an archiving and publication strategy for their research data and results, but still need advice and support with certain aspects.
The RDM-Offboarding Service Level 2 addresses researchers who do not yet have a ready-made archiving and publication strategy for their research project and therefore need to develop appropriate workflows.
The RDM-Offboarding Service Level 3 addresses researchers who do not yet have a strategy for archiving and publishing research data and results and who therefore need to develop such a strategy.
