Data Publication Services

A key outcome of research projects is the publication of scientific findings. This involves not only publishing reports on findings and scientific articles in journals and books, but above all the publication of the research data that has been collected.

Published and reusable research data and findings advance scientific progress, enable collaboration, and fundamentally support the transparency, traceability, and verifiability of scientific knowledge. To this end, research data and results must be made publicly available through technical infrastructures—such as repositories—that are as discipline-specific as possible, in accordance with the FAIR principles and the Open Science paradigm.

The DCH supports you in the discipline-specific preparation and processing of research data and results for publication, the identification of suitable infrastructures, and provides advice on organizational aspects.

In addition, the DCH offers its own publication services. Through automated workflows and processes, large volumes of research data and results can be automatically published on the generic repository Zenodo. Through the Language Archive Cologne (LAC), the Cologne Data Center operates its own discipline-specific repository for audiovisual language data. In addition, the DCH also possesses discipline-specific expertise in the publication of archaeological research data and results.
