The audio collection "Oral Tales of Mongol Bards" offers a fascinating insight into the world of the oral literary tradition of Inner Mongolia. The collection is based on digitized audio recordings of oral tales and epic poems. In addition to the digitized audio recordings from digitized handwritten transcripts in Mongolian script, the collection also includes scholarly summaries of the narratives and epics, which are available as TEI documents. The original works are part of the audio archive of the North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences, Humanities and the Arts(AWK) in Düsseldorf. The digitization and publication project was primarily implemented by the Cologne Center for eHumanities(CCeH). The "Oral Tales of Mongol Bards" were finally curated, archived and published by the DCH together with the CCeH.

The project is an example of close cooperation between the DCH and the project. The digitized data was processed within the project and stored accordingly in the Language Archive Cologne(LAC) - the DCH's repository for audiovisual (AV) data - both for long-term preservation and for publication of the collection. The research data is presented in a dataset-specific and dynamic way via the CCeH project website. The website accesses the interfaces of the LAC in order to dynamically display the media and text files stored there.

Close cooperation in data curation and the integration of the DCH repository means that the project presentation can rely on a sustainable service. This enables a long lifetime of the project presentation, and even beyond the existence of the project site, the data in the LAC is secured, accessible and findable via relevant data search portals and general web searches.
