In cooperation with the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, two lectures on aspects of research data management (RDM) in the humanities will be offered via Zoom in the winter semester 2020/2021, in addition to the "Daten & Datteln" collection cards. This offer is aimed at all members of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.

You will receive the access data for Zoom via the faculty mailing list. Registration is not required.

Guidelines for safeguarding good scientific practice are becoming increasingly important as ethical, organizational and structural recommendations for shaping day-to-day research, not least in the context of third-party funding. The handling of research data also plays a central role here. In our first presentation, we will show you how you can implement the RDM recommendations of the guidelines in simple steps, especially with offers at the University of Cologne.

In addition to going to the library, research is increasingly being conducted online, as research data, journal articles and even entire books are now published digitally. Persistent identifiers such as DOIs help to uniquely identify these results of scientific work and make them accessible in the long term. In addition, ORCID IDs enable researchers to be comprehensively linked to all their research activities. We provide an overview of the common persistent identifier systems so that you can use them effectively and always remain in control.
